My name is Lisa Tomaschewski and was born in 1983 in the southwest of Germany where I also grew up. This is also where I studied biology, geography and German and worked as a school teacher. I have been practicing yoga regularly since 2013. The yoga training helped me to cope with stressful everyday-situations and even bigger issues in life. When I do yoga, I feel alive, relaxed and powerful.
In 2016 I successfully completed my first yoga teacher training (200hrs) in Bali. The main direction of the training was ‘Ashtanga Yoga’, which is a quite yang/masculine yoga style, but we also practiced ‘Yin Yoga’ to keep the necessary balance.
Since September 2016 I have been living in Estonia and been working as a biology teacher at the Tallinna Saksa Gümnaasium, where I teach biology in German to Estonian kids and yoga to the teachers.
Teaching always felt somehow natural to me and made me happy. Protecting nature and my love for animals has always been a very important topic in my life. Luckily, my job allows me to spread my knowledge to the younger generation.
During my time here in Estonia I returned to the Ashtanga practice and improved my knowledge. My body became stronger and more flexible and I enjoy the breathing and meditative parts of the practice. But somehow, I was missing the balance and the Yin-part, which led to the decision of registering for a Yin-teacher training as well. Therefore, I went to Mexico in 2018 to join a 100hr Yin-training, which included ‘Yin Yoga’, Chinese meridians and qigong.
In my free time I love to discover the little coffee places and restaurants of Tallinn and the nature surrounding it. During my holidays I travel the world to get to know different countries and cultures.
